Good morning, and welcome to BYC. Use the link provided by Mr Porky, and access your state thread - perhaps someone there can help with a source for birds.

Welcome! I'm new as well but do know some we things I've learned a lot over the year, all hands on and things probably couldn't guess could happen so I'll try to help u in any way just tag me in any questions and if I know I will help! Good luckHello everybody.
I am in Northern Arizona, and looking to start my flock with 3 Black Sex Link and 3 Black Austalorp females, my research so far, leads me to believe these types will do well in our climate - last into this year we ranged 109°F - down to 0°.
I would like to select chicks in person, rather than relying on postal delivery.
Does anyone know if there are breeders/suppliers in Arizona (the closer to Prescott the better), I could visit and collect chicks from, in the next few weeks?
Thank you all in advance.
Ivevread if you put their feet in water it helps if they are panting and also freeze small bottle water to put in their water containers so not get hot as well. Good luckHi and welcome to BYC! I live in west TX and our climate is similar to yours...dry and last year we had temps ranging from 105 to a couple days of single digits this winter. My adult hens are Rhode Island Reds, Dominiques and Buff Orpingtons. They've done very well in both the heat the the cold. My 6-week old pullets are Wyandottes, Campines and Light Brown Leghorns. I'm hoping they do just as well in our heat...guess I'll find out soon enough.
Again...welcome!! Good luck with your new adventure!
