We are new to raising chickens. We got our first Pullets on 5/12/23. We have 6 pullets right now.
We were told we have 1 Americana, 1 Cream Legbar, 1 Patrick Rock, and 1 Isa Brown. But we are not sure those are correct. We know we have 2 Rhode Island Reds for sure. We hope to have eggs from our chickens and to enjoy them as pets, too. We love to camp and I love to read. We have 5 dogs, 2 grown children, and a 15 year old son. My husband is retired and I work in IT at our local hospital and I am a RN. I found BYC when looking for answers to some questions we have about our chicks. They should all be female, but a friend that I sent pics said we might have 2 roosters. I joined the Forum to hopefully get guidance on this and other questions about raising chickens.

You've come to the right place!! Ive been a member for, WOW, almost 2 yrs and the knowledge and expertise you will find here is amazing!! We all love our "girls" and "boys". Some are pets and part of the family some are not. But if you ever need help reach out and someone will respond.
