Hello all! Hubby and I have decided to get chickens this spring. We have room for them, I'm really excited. We will be getting them in a few days from our local feed stores. Will probably have about 8 hens. All my neighbors have chickens, but wanted to learn here too. Hello to all!

Picking out chicks from the feed store is so egg-citing! I have to stay OUT of my feed store this month. They are also carrying chicks and I am way too weak to walk out of there with out a truck load of babies!!

Thanks for all the warm welcome! Got my chicks today and I am so excited. Would just like to share with someone who cares :). Here is my little flock: 2 Buff Orpingtons (one week); 1 Light Brahma (one week) 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte (1 week) 1 Cuckoo Maran (1 week) 1 Gold Star sexlink (2 week) 1 Barred Rock (2 week) and 1 Americana (1 week). They are sooo cute, and are doing well: drinking, pecking, scratching, peeping. So precious. DH is making the coop in the next few weeks. Thanks for all the help I've already gotten on this fun forum.
