Take out some time and read this if ur new to peafowl. it's very useful. The sticky topic information is pretty much wht kept my peacocks from dying in the first week.

I also dip each of my new peachicks beaks into the water at first. Just enough to get a droplet on their beaks. I do the same for the food dish. They catch on very quickly and learn from each other. It excites and interests them if I used a small stick to agitate the water and poke at the food.
