I'm raising jumbo wild/brown Coturnix quail. 19 of my first batch of 20 chicks survived the brood box. After processing the surplus male pullets, I'll have 9 hens & 2 roosters. Going forward, I'll be trying to keep my flock at roughly 12 to 16 birds.
I was attracted to quail because we're in the suburbs. Backyard space is limited and noise from chickens would be an issue with our neighbors.
Other than raising quail, I bake sourdough bread. We also have an Irish terrier that likes to take us for walks.
I look forward to sharing information & stories with other "quail people" and learning from their successes and failures.
