Since I just have a city lot (about 9000 sq ft) I thought some sort of bantam would be perfect. I am also a great granny and live alone. A few eggs right from the source would be delightful. I was always afraid to gather eggs from the Rhodys (Momma's choice) because they pecked me. I think they could smell the fear.

I searched for regs in my city and found this list. So cool. I can have 2 hens, no rooster. My friend lives just on the city boundary (the good side) and can have as many as she wants. She has so many she sells eggs.

My sis is alternately called the Bird Lady or the Flower Lady. She introduced me to the fascinating and endless variety of chickens, quail, ducks, turkeys, budgies, parrots - you name it, she's raised them. I guess because mine will be basically pets, I'm going for cute.
