Hello everyone,

I am more than a newbie and eager to learn how I can raise my own chickens while maintaining a full time job, children and grandchildren - plus a social life.

So thank you for all I've already seen shared, I actually feel a little more confident now and I've only browsed the site for 20 minutes.

My husband always told me that since I enjoyed eating chicken so much one day I'd turn into one.....am I in the right place?

Welcome to BYC. I don't know if we could find a nest box large enough for you but, yes, you've come to the right place. I believe at last count we had 260,000 members around the globe so interest in chickens runs high.

If you go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum you can locate and post on your state thread - hopefully you will find other chickeners - close enough to form friendship of the 3 dimensional kind.

Welcome to the flock!! Chickens fit quite nicely into a busy life-though you'll find yourself starting to carve out more and more time to spend with your birds and less for those other silly things like a social life, etc, lol.

Welcome to BYC!

Yes, you have come to the right place!! Oh, I get that around here....they claim one day they will find me on the living room floor crowing like a rooster! Ha!

Definitely stop by our learning center for lots of great articles on caring for your birds.

Make yourself at home here on BYC and welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC! This is the place to be when you own chickens. Good luck with your flock.
