Hello all!
I’ve owned chickens for about a year now. Started with a rooster my husband’s friend was offloading, and then went from there. Currently I have about 10 chickens and 3 guineas with 15 chicks in my basement.
Current breeds are Buff Orpington, Lavender Orpington and 3 bantams we were gifted so unsure on their breeds. My current chicks include starlight green eggers, olive eggers, cream legbars, light brahmas, some assorted bantams with 1 silkie and a chick that was hatched here (so a barnyard mix, the rooster was some sort of Dominique mix we think, he didn’t make it)
Other than chickens I also do genealogy work in my spare time. I have always enjoyed history and genealogy is like the history of family generations
. I also have 5 kids so it is very busy around here.
We have a few cats inside, and a sweet Great Pyrenees dog as well. No other livestock and no plans to add anymore right now.
I found this forum while trying to figure out why the guineas (that my husband insisted on) attacked our rooster. I wish I had done more research before my husband brought home guineas
