Hi all. I've used this site for information off and on for some years, but now I've signed up today because I need to advice and help. We mostly keep Rhode Island Reds and Leghorns now. We've had California Whites, Buff Orpingtons, Welsummers, and Americanas in the past. Our chickens are pets more than working birds, but they feed us too.

Thank you. I've come to trust the site already, and I'm looking forward to meeting folks here and learning. I joined because of a really sad experience I just posted in Incubating and Hatching Eggs forum. Don't look if you aren't feeling resilient today. But aside from that, we love our girls and will have lots of pictures to share.

I'll attach a picture here from this past January, showing several of my girls and me enduring the cold on a bright, chilly day. The Leghorns are never quite brave enough to perch on us, but the Rhode Island Reds have no qualms.

Welcome to BYC fellow NHer!

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

That is a very nice avatar!

I'm an addicted incubating maniac, having hatched well over 400 silkie chicks this year. I replied to your other post, but please try again. Incubating is so rewarding, and you'll do better the next time! :hugs

We're glad you're here!
