Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. Golden Sex Link is one of a number of labels used by some hatcheries for their Red Sex Links and they are egg laying machines. Are your Buffs, Orpingtons?

Hey, I also am in the Tri-cities. I am brand new to chickens and jumped in with both feet, I have 24 that are now 7 weeks old. I have Black Australorp, Buff Orpington, Easter Eggers, Cuckoo Maran, Delaware, and Barred Rock.

Thanks for posting your picture. You have a beautiful flock of good layers. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed; very hardy, calm and gentle, and excellent layers. My granddaughter loves our Easter Eggers for their colored eggs. Good luck with your flock.

Thanks! Yeah I love having a good variety, as a first time chicken owner asking around everyone I talked to had their favorite breed so I figured I would just order some of each and see what I like, so far I like having a variety, gives you lots of colors and personalities! I tried to order breeds that are good in cold and heat since we get both here and I tried to order dual purpose birds. I still don't have any favorite breed, there is at least one from every breed that I really love.
