I got my day old chicks of a rare variety in June of 2017. I have 9 hens and 1 rooster at this moment. Getting 2 adult hens and a mature rooster very soon. I also foster chickens for the local shelter who cannot house unwanted (who thought there could be such a thing?) or found chickens. My rare variety are developing beautifully. I have 6 different breeds... lol. My rooster is a lavender orpington, 2 Sicilian butter cups, 2 golden laced Wyandotte (which aren't rare, but my mealmakers), 2 frost white legbars, 1 black Sumatra, 1 white Cochin, and 1 blue andalusian. My new adult chickens are of their own breed as well, Silver laced Cochins. I have read BYC forums many times for advice without asking myself. I am a stay at home mom with 2 children. I do crafts for hobbies. I absolutely love all of my pets. I have my chickies, 3 dogs, and an indoor cat. I pride myself in the care for my animals and I love to help any animal in need. I have bottle fed sqirrells(That of whom my dog orphaned... :-(... ) they lived and are flourishing in my front yard. My family is the up most importance to me and that includes all things bald, furry, and feathery!! Have a blessed day!!
