New member with a mice question.

I have kept backyard chickens for a couple of years in Utah. Recently we have had a mild mouse infestation. Hanta virus comes to mind. Apart from masked what can I do to about the mice? Feed is inside the coop. Cats are out of the question. My bulldog would protest and we are allergic. Any other suggestions? I think the mice are taking some of my once prolific laying hens' eggs.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I set 2 snap traps baited with peanut butter and a piece of bread smashed down into the trigger and place them inside a wire dog crate in the run at night. I made sure that the chickens couldn't get at the triggers before I set them. Empty the traps in the morning and rebait.
Brilliant!!!
