Hello! I currently raise Emus, Chickens and Quail. I used to raise peafowl, Guinea fowl and ducks as well, but no longer have them after moving. I am so fascinated with the genetics and color make-ups that go into plumage and egg color that I'm always researching it in my free time! I am currently working on getting my own line of dark brown egg layers and hopefully then get their plumage to be Mottled. It's a project for sure! I also work on blonde emus and here is a picture of my white emu, Ned! He fathers all of my blonde emus, I absolutely adore him. If you have a fun project you are working on please share! Cool! I don’t exactly know the genetics of it, but I once bred a black hen with feathers on her feet to a Rhode Island Red. The chicks are black, with little reddish brown specks, not quite lacing but similar, and they got the toe feathers gene! These are some pictures I took of Hailstorm, one of the hybrid chicks.
