Pretty normal. We hatched one chick last year, a Valley quail, and so far your adventures are going along the same lines. I had put fuzzy material in a dixie cup where he snuggled in at night. We kept upgrading until it was a large cottage cheese container. All had the bottoms cut out so they were like a tunnel. We finally put Kevin in a pen outside, separate from the others, as the pair would beat him up. He would follow us around the yard, bathe in the strawberry bed and try to beat up the chickens.
He now lives in a large coop with another bachelor. I am desperately trying to get two more hens. He is a little wilder and we needed to trim his wings as he would fly into the tree and not come down.
Much fun to have a pet like this.
