Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I got 6 baby chicks in late March and have been obsessed ever since. I never thought chickens could be so much fun and full of personality, each so different. Needless to say I've gone from 6 to nearly 30. I have to tell myself " no more!" Everyday.
I really look forward to all that I will learn from this great site. I would love to know what all of you guys favorite breed is and why. Thanks!

Your problem is called "chicken math".
That's how you ended up with 30 so far.
It afflicts us all, no worries. I have nearly 40 birds, not counting my meaties!
I love to watch my chickens after work. It's a stress reliever for sure!
My fave breed is Barred Plymouth Rock. I have many of them in my flock.
They are a wonderful Heritage breed used for eggs and meat.
My girls are beautiful and sassy and they love their mom!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome! Looking forward to learning and sharing more about our feathered friends! By the way, my favorite breeds are Buff Brahma and Silver laced Cochin Bantam, both are so friendly. I love those beautiful blue Easter Egger eggs though!
