[Todd the chicken guy]

I love my new chickens,for starters .I worked all the weekends this summer to build a chicken coop with the materials in my backyard..I was going to wait until spring to get some chicks but a neighbor offered to give me some beautiful chickens that I fell in love with .. She gave me five beautiful brama hens that love their new home and give us the best eggs I ever had. They are very talkative and super friendly one even likes to be pet .. They are so smart and love to kick around my yard looking for huge worms. I had no idea they were so social they love to hang out with us and they fallow me everywhere..

Great pics! Thank you for sharing. If I can .. I am not sure where you are located but will predators be an issue for you? I note that there is quite a bit of chicken wire on your run; sadly, while chicken wire is good at keeping chickens in, it is hopeless when it comes to keeping predators out.

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share more pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Hello and Welcome! For sure you should attach welded wire over the chicken wire in your coop. Even a stray dog can rip its way in and slaughter all your lovely birds. Been there, done that, no fun.
