whats up chicken world? I'm new to the BYC family, but have been using you guys for information for the past year or so. I currently have 5 silkie chickens 3 hens and 2 roosters. I have had them since may of 2017 and this is my first time ever keeping poultry. it is a blast and has been relatively easy, and have all of you to thank. I definitely have some questions but will do that in the appropriate thread. just wanted to say hi

G’Day from down under smalltownflock :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Hello smalltown:frow so glad you decided to join!!:wee! Plenty of great advice to be had here!! In my honest opinion silkies are soooo cute!! I would love to have some someday. Good luck with your cutie pies!!
we love our silkies, my wife didn't want chickens because she thought they were mean to each other and constantly pecked one, she also thought they were loud. so I had to find the nicest and quietest breed, hence why we have silkies. they are just cute little fluff balls

Hi! Welcome to backyard chickens! =)

I agree that its so nice having chickens! They are so sweet and it is relaxing watching them as they forage for food. I always thought it was too hard to take care of chickens. I got six.. then five more... plus three more... then 10 more... then 5 more..

Haha!
