Yes I watched her push them all into a corner. Bad girl.[/QUOT]
Yea, sounds like you also have a bully hen. If you can separate her from the rest of the flock for several weeks. When you deprive her of status she cannot bully the rest of the flock. This will also give the remaining girls in the flock time to reset the pecking order. When she is later reintroduced she will have to work her way back up the latter. It may take several times of isolating her to get things to be smoother. I have at times had to separate my bad girl several time before things seemed to go well in the flock. Removing her will also reduce stress in your flock. If she is really being a bully the rest of the girls are living in fear of her which is not good. When chickens are stressed they are more susceptible to illness and so forth. She is what is called the Alpha Hen, she has worked her position to the top of the pecking order. Its ok to have the reinforcement of the pecking order every now and again, but when one member takes it too far it needs to be dealt with. When chickens are stressed they can also pick feathers, several of my girls will exhibit this behavior when my "mean girl" becomes aggressive with the pecking order. It resolves soon after I remove the instigator.
