Hey North Texas, welcome! I am a newbie here also. We have 20 chicken chicks and will be getting 14 grown guineas the end of this month for tick control. So far the chicks are still in brooders in the house as we are buttoning up our bird barn in the next two weekends. We have Araucanas, Ameracaunas, rir, silver laced wyandotte, black sex links, cinnamon queen, red sexlink and 5 marans that are straight run.
I would suggest that if you get grown guineas that you keep them penned up for a week or so before you turn them loose. I have heard that grown guineas may try to leave for home if they do not get imprinted on their new home.
