Hi, from Kamloops, British Columbia Canada! We raise turkeys (300) and meat birds (1100) not all at once! I have a gov inspected Abattoir where we process our own and do custom processing for others. Been raising chickens for 10 years. Still learning. Josee

Hi Penny, I have a few stories to tell! What kind of stories are you interested in hearing...lol I'm always on the lookout for quick and efficient eviscerating methods and pinfeather removal. This is our second year running the abattoir and Iam eviscerating about 30-40 birds a hr. Wish I was faster. Any suggestions from people I would love to hear.
Thanks for the welcome.

That is more than I ever did I know as kid folks would raise 100 fryers separate from our layers but we would have a big picnic and all the ladies would bring a dish and bucket they would line up with boiling water little salt in it as the skin was sacred but those metal buckets got hot as get out but feathers came off that way I had a defeather here that was great but had to hold onto it to use it now we are old don't bother just have the birds get to a certain age I have a customer that takes them makes soup brings me one for payment
