hello, thank you for adding me. I have been a chicken owner for about 6 years. We have lots of predators in our area. Recently lost my flock of 7 to a raccoon...who is no longer with us...I have a remaining to bantams. My cochin bantam has decided she is broody and I got her 6 eggs from a neighbor. It is as hot as here. Today it was 95. I worry the eggs will die. She is very tame and today allowed e to rub cold water under her feathers. She cooed and clucked as if she loved it. super cute. I hope at least one of her eggs hatch. She is a good mom, but lost previous chicks to predators.

:welcome

So sorry for your previous losses. I hope your girl will hatch more chicks for you.

If you ever have questions on how to deal with the predators in your area, this forum could be of assistance to you:

Best of luck!
