Hi I've just joined your lovely group. I'm from Ireland and have kept hens for the last 30 years. This has been a very warm summer in Ireland while it's nice to have it seems to have brought me a infestation of mites. I've read on this site about marigolds and I purchased some plants today but not quite sure what to do with them do I just put cuttings from them into hen house and nesting boxes????? Looking forward to getting to k ow ye all regards Kak

Welcome to BYC!
:yesss: We are glad you joined our flock!

I have never heard anything about marigolds keeping mites away.
I am not sure if permethrin is available to you but it will rid a mite infestation.
It is sold in both liquid and powder products.

Hello Kak and welcome to BYC. I wish you the best in finding something that will get rid of the infestation :fl
Hopefully others from your beautiful Emerald Isle will be able to help on what you can buy over there.

Best wishes
