Anxious newbie

First time chicken owner here! I have recently acquired 4 Rustic Rocks. To be honest, I feel like I’m going in blind. I already had one sick chick, but was able to get her on the road to recovery with information from forums like this. Still very anxious! But looking forward to raising these gals and learning more about the backyard chicken world.

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!

You'll find it's not as daunting and difficult as it may seem sometimes. The longer you raise chicks and chickens, the more natural you'll feel about it.

Check out the Forums you can post in. One important one is the Emergency/Disease forum. Anytime you've got a chick or chicken acting off, just post a picture and the details there, and folks will give you suggestions.

Welcome to BYC. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I was a nervous wreck when I started. I had to find a YouTube video to show me how to pick up these little dinosaurs that were staring up at me from a crate in my garage where they had been left while I was asleep.
But step by step I calmed down though the monsters do have a way of thinking up new ways to freak me out.
I am sure you will do great and learn to love the simple joy of sitting and watching them going about their chicken day.
