Hello,
I got 8 chicks for my 2 yr dating anniversary. I grew up with them and never thought I would be getting some this soon. However, I'm very excited and eager to raise my new babies with my best friend and family. We have 6 orpingtons and 2 jersey giants. He just purchased 3 different type of Brahmas.
I want them for eggs and enjoyment, he decided to get the additional chicks for size.

They are now 3 weeks old and getting big fast.

Issue: I had a chick lay on another chick and somehow got crap on the back of this chick. I tried for 2 days on putting a warm towel on it and try to remove the clump of dry poo. Still it hasnt helped. Any other suggestions?
Thanks In Advance,

Erika

Try some warm water and a little plain soap or dish detergent (Not anti-bacterial etc.)
Massage it over the dirty area and let it sit a bit. Then rinse - it should come out in the rinse. Be sure to keep the chick warm and wrapped in a towel till dry. Or use a hair
dryer set on low.

Glad you joined BackYard Chickens!!
