Hello all. My name is James A Edwards. I grew up always having between 20 and 25 hens and a rooster before enlisting in the Marine Corps. Now almost 30 years later, we are finally starting an urban chicken farm after wanting to for years. We just built our coop, went to a county Ag Extension chicken class where we were given six unknown sex/breed chicks that are know between 3 and four weeks old. Our purpose is to have laying hens, because you just can't beat yard eggs. Looking forward to expanding my knowledge base and sharing what I know and learn.

Hello, James, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Cute coop. However, I recommend you change out that chicken wire with 1/2" hardware cloth. Chicken wire will keep the chickens in but not many predators out.
