Hello everyone. Looking forward to this new adventure.
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
New to raising chickens. Been eating them professionally for 42 years
We will be getting our first chicks in a couple weeks when they arrive at the store.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Zero
(3) What breeds do you have?
None
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Not sure yet. Aside from the eggs and the meat Im not sure what to expect
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Being outdoors, and resting. (we have 4 kids, and a dog. And soon to be 12 chicks.)
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married 21 years. 7 kids-(4 here with us, the other 3 went straight to the finish line). ASE Certified mechanic, and former professional driver with a little over 1,000,000 miles of spotless driving.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
The Nutrena guy (Mr Chick from Wisconsin) mentioned this group in the presentation today. Joined because well, I dont know how to raise chickens.
