Hello! I'm a new member so I figured I should do the new member thread. My name is Shannon and I live in Spencer, NY. My husband and I purchased our first home last August so I'm finally able to have my very own flock! I currently have six 4-week old chicks (three Silver-Laced Wyandottes and three Jersey Giants) and five 2-week old Ameraucana/EE's. The weather has been absolutely wild this spring (it snowed on Monday and it's going to be 75 degrees tomorrow) so I've been a bit delayed in building my coop.
Besides chicks, I own two lovely cats, Oskar and Lily. I also own three horses (two OTTBs and a TWH), Oliver, Lena, and Sal, and do Eventing and Dressage. I work full time as an associate analytical chemist and also have a few client horses in training on the side. I hope to also get my garden going at some point (stupid snow!) and have an ever-growing collection of house plants. When I'm not working, riding, or sleeping, I read a lot and am currently working on reading every single Stephen King book. My coop is going to be The Overcluck Hotel and I can't wait!
