Hi there, new member here from Ontario Canada. My fiance and I are new to raising backyard chickens. We just got two days ago, two 18 week old lohmann whites that live in our coop outside, and two 4 week old silkie chicks that we keep inside for now. We built a fence around our coop and for the first time we let out lohmanns free range in the yard. They didn't fly away so we found that pretty cool. We love the fact that we already are noticing different personalities.
I will be here asking different question ( already one about how we think our one chicken acquired 2 days ago is maybe blind or something?), and also about if we should dna sex our silkie chickens now to make sure they aren't roosters ( we cant have rooster where we live :( ).
We currently have our 9 year old golden retriever and she loves all the chickens already. I am a chiropractic and owner of a multidisciplinary business and my fiance is director of a sporting goods store ( ex professional hockey player).
I found BYC by researching about coops, chickens attitudes and silkie sexing.

I appreciate all your responses already and we are thankful to be here with some experts to guide us.
