Hello! My name is Katherine.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is not my first time with chickens, but the first time we had chickens we were living in Montana on 3 acres and thought it would be a good idea to free range. Realized that doesn't work for long. We now live in Washington and the previous owners had fenced off an area of the yard where they had a garden so we have made that into a chicken yard and built a new coop.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Currently have 9 10 week old chickens and I think one is a cockeral/roo
(3) What breeds do you have?
Black laced Wyandotte, Rhode island red, and what the store said was assorted bantams.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love the fresh eggs, seeing the interaction on the hens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Amature photography, hiking, camping
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Just the husband and I with two dogs.
