Welcome to the group. That is a beautiful rooster.Hi I am a new member to BYC. We have recently taken on a brood of 7 chickens. We bought from a breeder who assured us we were getting poulets that would become laying hens. They are a mix of Silkies and Wyndottes. One of the Wyndottes has been crowing for 8 weeks now and has all the characteristics of a rooster. I phoned the breeder who suggested it may be a dominant hen. I think she had some wishful thinking. We live in a residential area and council have banned Roosters. Should I return to breeder or am I now responsible for disposal? Does anyone need a beautiful Wyndotte rooster? Any advice appreciated.
