@kiviern04 - welcome to BYC, and I'm sure you'll get lots of quick help in learning about coop construction. Make sure to check old forum posts and articles for more help. Predator prevention is a huge part of ensuring the chickens are safe, and I highly recommend setting up a game camera or security cam if you can to keep an eye out for potential predators.

Your coop well be a nice size, but your run will need to be a little bigger unless you plan to free range for several hours a day. Go for at least a 10 x12 run if you can.
I wouldn't cover the area with hardware cloth because chickens dig. Just make an apron with 2' wide hardware cloth or dig an eighteen inch trench and put your cloth in that vertically.
