As to why your free chickens were almost bald, do you know what their living conditions were like in their previous home?

No I don't know their living conditions were owner said was from heat I bought some feather fixer feed and at present have them in large horse stall fora couple days

Welcome to BYC! Looks like molting to me but you could check for depluming mites just to be sure .

Welcome to BYC.
It looks like you have some overbreeding going on. I'd seperate the hens and roosters and feed the hens some extra protein a couple of times a week, for a few weeks. (Chickens love sardines and you can buy a high protein chicken feed too.)
I'd also check for lice around their vents.
