Hi there! I'm a new member. Here's some info about me.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
No, I had chickens as a teenager which my parents helped me raise. I got chickens again in 2015 when my partner and I moved to a piece of land.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Six.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Two cream legbar hens, 2 blue copper marans hens, one Russian orloff hen, and a crevecoeur rooster.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching and hanging out with them. Collecting the beautiful eggs and enjoying home grown food.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Hiking, biking, painting, drawing, playing guitar.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My partner and I live in Northern California. A big Anatolian shepherd mix dog recently joined our family. I am a fisheries biologist.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found it while looking for chicken advice online in 2015. I always found the best advice here.
