Hi! I'm Denise. I don't have any chickens yet but I've been googling about them and how to build the coop, and feeding them, so needless to say this website has popped up a lot over the last few months for me. I decided to just join and stop the google!
Anyway, I've got about 115 acres in Colorado in rocky soil, above timber line. I only want enough chickens to give me about half a dozen eggs a day. I'm clueless as to where the coop should be relative to my house, what they can eat besides feed and whatever they find on the ground, if I should let them free range, etc, etc, etc....

Hello, and welcome! Good luck with your plan's! If you are planning to free-range, you may have to get more chicken's if you have predator's over there in your area because you will loose a few to them.
