Hello,
My name is Kiki and I am new to hatching duck eggs. I rescued three mallard duck eggs from an abandoned nest on my property. I have them in an incubator but am not sure how far along they are. I have candled them and they seem to all be progressing at different rates. Two definitely have movement and one seems to have a lot of movement close to the air sack. My incubator has a temp that is set for 99.5 degrees and a fan. I have water in the bottom of it but it does not have a humidity gage and doesn't seem to have any vents in it. I know next to nothing. I understand that at some point I should stop the egg turning and that there is a "lockdown" process but I dont know when or how to do that with an incubator that has no vents and no humidity gage. Also, if they are progressing at different rates how do i decide when to "lockdown" or do even try to lockdown with no vents and no way to add water? If anyone can give me advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
