Hello, I’m slightly new to chickens I got my first batch back in November/December 2021. Until recently I had 3 chickens, unfortunately one died a few days ago from a heart attack 😞 I went out and got 4 new chicks that I’m currently brooding. My chicken breeds are Americana, astrolorp, white crested polish, calico princes, and barred rock. Nature and animals are my main hobby and I love all my animals. I enjoy taking care of injured animals and making friends with wild ones! Animals are my passion I couldn’t imagine life without them 😊

There were no signs of injury, choking, crop problems, illness, etc. She appeared to have been dust bathing at the time… and not egg bound either as she had laid and egg that morning.
So you just guessed that it was a heart attack.
Are you aware there are a lot of chicken diseases that can just kill instantly without any signs of illness?

It's mute at this point but if you should lose another bird, from your new flock, please remember that you can get a necropsy performed at your state lab to find out why they die. It can be extremely helpful to know exactly what caused to death especially if it was something that could have been prevented.
