My name is Stevenia... Gammaskids is my membership name. Presently staying with eldest son on a farm until I find a place of my own. We went about a month ago & they bought 5 little chick-chicks (what my 9 yo granddaughter calls them) & my 19 yo granddaughter & I wanted ducks so we each bought a duck. Upon arriving home my son immediately pulled out his table saw & built a hutch for the 7 new family members. They already have a pit Bull dog & I have a Boxer mix & Jack Russel Terrier mix. Mine live in the back yard & their pit is a house dog that’s very gentle. We have enjoyed these new pets although it is a lot of work. The pit Bull is so good with the chickens & ducks & even herds them sometimes. As a group if they move somewhere they aren’t suppose to be Sky knows & moves them back to the places that are safe. If k ok me chick takes off alone she will herd it back to the group! The new still hasn’t worn off and I don’t believe ever will. My knowledge of fowl has only been garnered from childhood as both sets of my grandparents had chickens but no ducks. We are learning new things about raising chickens but really enjoying it! After about 3 weeks my other youngest 2 grandchildren came to visit & got to be around the ducks & chickens & loved them. They are great additions to my ever growing family!
