I live in Oklahoma, 64 years old, 4 th time to have chickens in my life. We have 2 buff orpingtons, 2 bielefelders, 3 Easter eggers, 1 americauna, 1 mixed old game hen,1 saphire gem. I recently got 5 saphire chicks, now 2 weeks, and 2 little buff chicks of unlisted breed, they were in a trough as “ assorted pullets”. They both looked bad and weak, last 2 so I had to get them. Both are flourishing now, but tiny. The adventure is always entertaining and fun.we converted a 8X10 resin shed to coop and big run. We have an electric wire around the bottom that has really worked well, and is plugged in at night. They free range all day. They are all funny personality’s, and it was my 1st experience w a saphire gem, who has become my favorite! Fun hobby for sure! Eggs are great too. Love this forum!
