Hello everyone,

I'm new to BYC and new to poultry! No flock yet. I recently purchased my first house in May. With so much going on this year with the new house I haven't done much in the way or gardening or self-sufficient hobbies like this, but looking into getting ready for next year and maybe, just Maybe, getting some chickens! I'll be creeping on all the noobie forums and topics, but probably not posting a lot.

I'm learning about the restrictions for my city and debating if chickens are a viable option for me. Things like "no roosters" and a limit of 6 hens have me up in the air on it. I'm very interested novel egg colors such as that of Olive Eggers and Welsummer.

See you all in the threads!

I had the same restrictions. I loved having my laying hens. I just had a memory pop up today. I hadn't touched these eggs. All of the girls decided to lay in the same box. (Happens often) What a pretty site. Took this picture. WELCOME TO BYC!
