The goats can help with predators, but even better would be if you could find a dog that would chase off the riff-raff. We also use solar motion lights to make our barren areas light up when a cat/dog/or varment walks by.
Thank you for your advice. I admit that ALL the attacks were when no one was home. I have been looking for a Pyrenees puppy but haven't found one locally and as I get older I just don't like to travel to far from home. Thank you again.and thanks for your great introduction.
If there are too many predators active during the day, I suppose the only way to prevent so much predation is to build a solid run (cage) and keep the chickens inside part of the day. It’s safer to let them free range if someone is outside.
