What is this ' MASH ' you referred to
My mash is putting warm water in a dish of crumbles so they're all wet. Some make it into more of an oatmeal consistency. Mine's not quite that soft or mushy, just wet so they swell and soften up.

I bring a dish of this out for the younger ones daily, but have to make two more separate dishes so the other chickens don't steal theirs.

I have a cross-beak chick that dives into this. She eats dry too but this is easier for her to eat.
 
It's nice to have you here! I hope Spunkey makes a full recovery. Running into sliding glass doors is no joke. I watched my grandpa do it twice and we had to put stickers on it. Keep us posted on her progress.

I'm Tonya.
You add water to their feed so make a mash. It makes it easier to add supplements and get the bird to take them stress free.
