I'm
Hi I'm new here. We have 8 full grown hens who are great layers. 8, 2 week old chicks and 2 ducklings from Tractor Supply currently growing quickly in a rabbit cage since my chickens decided they are ready to fly their first brooder. I can't wait to see these babies grow and become happy chickens and ducks
I'm new too. My chicks are turning into teenagers. My ducklings are growing rapidly. They were transitioned to the ponds. (Still won't go in the duck palace). Between my established ten hens and one rooster, my tractor chicks (22 of them that my daughter thought we needed) and my incubated chicks, (12 of them) it has gotten pretty crazy. There is definitely a pecking order. And I seem to be partial to my incubated chicks. I'm trying to like the tractor chicks but they pick on the incubated ones. The incubated chicks were housed in a tub then moved to a horse stall while another coop was being built. It has taken a week to get them to go into the new coop at night. Lot's of moving parts. Plus five goats, two pregnant, and three kids a month old. And lot's of horses.

Wow you have a lot going on. We just got a bigger run for our chickens coop. It's 19ft long. My son is going to start putting it together next week. That was when the chicks and ducklings are big enough to go outside they'll have plenty of room. Once they're around 6-8weeks we're gonna section off one corner of the run for just the chicks til they get big enough to be with the big girls.

Our gang is pretty much free range. The big ladies hop over the fence and visit the goats and the little ones go under it. They even free range up to the horse barn. And I have three peacocks that roam the place. They have a favorite treat. Hulled sunflower seeds. I do it for the extra protein.
Your birds are going to love the run and being outside.

We have coyotes that roam, so we don't let our girls free roam. That's why I got such a big enclosed run. That way they have plenty of room to roam but be protected as well.
