I have just purchased 3 chicks from Cackle Hatchery. 1 Welsummer, 1 Black Australorp and 1 Easter Egger. They are due to arrive in the fall. I plan to put them in the Omlet Eglu go up. From Murray McMurray I purchased the chicken first aid. I feel the first aid kit is lacking. I need to add more medicines to it. Also I have their pullet starter feed kit. I am getting all my supplies way before my chicks get here. I am also educating myself daily since I am starting from the beginning.

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

We've been raising chickens for years and hatching chicks a ton. Our kit is merely a few things: I bolded the two most important you should have on hand.

*Poultry Cell and Nutri-Drench - vitamins, the latter for weak chicks, the PC for all chicks and chickens.

*Vet Wrap - for splayed legs or curled toes.

*Hydro-Hen - or similar - probiotics and electrolytes.

*Triple antibiotic ointment (without painkiller).

*Vetericyn antimicrobial spray.

You may sometime down the road need Corid (coccidiosis) or Ivermectin (SLM scaly leg mites), but they have expiration dates, so I'd wait until you may need it.
