I am in Brandon, MS. I am fairly new at raising back yard chickens. I first got chickens May of last year (2024). I have 6 chickens; 2 Smokey Pearls, a Cochin, 2 Cochin Bantams, and one hen that a local breeder thinks is a Golden Death Layer. I think she's probably a hybrid of a GDL.
My favorite things about raising chicks is fresh eggs (of course), but they are also great therapy hanging out in the yard with them after a long day at work.
