1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Ok.. I have had chickens for about 4 years now. However I feel like a new to chicken owner. Probably because I have learned most everything about chickens by observing others…
Seems like chicken owners are pretty much to themselves and have their own style of chicken life so they don’t really dictate how someone should do things. We are independent and I love that about chicken life/owners!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Currently I have 2 leghorn hens, 2 Rhode Island Red hens, 1 Brahma hen, and 1 coca egger (Easter egger?) they are so pretty too! And I had a bantam rooster that I had to replace with a Russian Orloff that I thought was a hen! The bantam went to a good home and was only replaced because of having a good home and he was about 4 years old so I thought it was the right thing to do.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Probably the peace and sanity I feel. I talk and completely bond with my chickens!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to travel. I love to do yard work. Paint. Draw. Drive. Help others in need. Entertain kids!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 6 kids. A 29 year old daughter, a 26, 21 year old sons 12 year old twin boys and a 7 year old princess. I have a wonderful husband and we are very happy with our happy
