Hello to all fellow chicken lovers! My name is Chris and I got my first chicken last year without really researching it. She was a Barred Rock and her name was Bertie. Unfortunately due to my ignorance, my husband's dog got a taste for her and she eventually died from her wounds. Needless to say I did a lot of research this time before I even made the purchase. I now have 6 new babies that are only 3 weeks old. 4 are black with stripes on their heads, 1 red, and 1 white. Not sure of their breed but very excited to see what they are going to be. Along with my 6 new babies, I have my faithful and loving DH, a rambunctious 16 month old little boy(who happens to be my main hobby these days), 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a ball python. I found this website through my researching and have come back to it again and again, so I finally decided I needed to join, cause I can always use help! And who knows maybe 1 day I can help someone also!
