Hi I am just joining the chicken world. We are making an old gazebo into a coop and using a side yard as the run (fenced). I will be getting 6 layinghens when the abode is ready. Weather here in the central valley of california seems like it could be chicken weather (most of the time). I am learning, feel like a soaked sponge!!. I saw this web site among the mega info I am reading and here I am. It is just me and my hubby, and our soon to be "girls". I am a baby boomer so this will keep me busy and out of a little trouble. I better get busy reading and learning from all you chicks, roosters too. Read you later. mercedsoup
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
