Hey Chicken Farmers out there i wanted to know what would happen if you had a hen that had peeps and you took the peeps away from her and you put new fertilized eggs under her if she would still be broody and hatch them out???????? Thanks

Expecting a hen to sit another 21 days after hatching out chicks may disrupt her hormones which has now begun preparing her body for another laying cycle soon. What are you going to do with the chicks she has now?

If you desire to hatch out more eggs, there are many videos and instructions on how to make an inexpensive incubator out of items you already have around the house.

A hen who sits for 21 days needs the exercise she gets from helping her chicks scratch and peck for food, take dust bathes, and instruct them with her calls. Her body is getting ready to begin laying again, which may occur before the chicks are completely on her own. I would also be concerned that your hen will be super upset that you took her chicks, and she may not sit on the eggs at all. If you hen does settle down and sit on the new eggs, she may abandon them before day 21 and that would spoil the hatch.

My advise would be to make your own incubator and allow the hen to rear her chicks.
