I am a new chicken owner. I absolutely love it. My idea started with a small coop and when I was done it wound up being a coop inside a large closed in pen with a fenced in play yard. I have named my four chickens and call them by name. My husband thinks I am insane. I wasn't expecting them to be so social with me. When they hear the backdoor slam they start singing and pacing. Maybe it isn't love maybe it's just that I am this large figure who gives them treats. I prefer to think the former.

You won't hear many on BYC argue with you. It's love! You love them, so they love you. Easy peasy. I'm glad you are enjoying your girls. I started with 4 too...now there are a few more in with them...and a few more in the brooder....
 
Hello :frow and Welcome to BYC! The fastest way to a chickens' heart is thought its stomach! Chickens are a lot of fun, amazing how different their personalities are.
