    Hi my name is Kate I'm 17 and I love my chickens! I've been looking for hardy hens that lay nice and big eggs. If you have some ckickens or opinions please let me know

    Welcome to BYC!!!

    As for birds, looking through the breeds section is a good idea, but some quick suggestions are Australorps, Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rock, and Leghorn (Leghorns are not particularly hardy, as they do best in warmer environments).
